The Awyu languages are a cluster of Papuan languages of the Digul River, or Greater Awyu, group within the Awyu-Ok branch of the Trans-New Guinea family, spoken in the Digul watershed of Indonesian New Guinea. Depending on the criteria used to distinguish a language from a dialect, the cluster is described as comprising between five and eleven languages, with South Awyu, Southeast Awyu, North Awyu, Central Awyu and West Awyu as its main groupings.
