Dyirbal is an Australian Aboriginal language of the small Dyirbalic branch of the Pama-Nyungan family, traditionally spoken by the Dyirbal peoples of northeast Queensland, with each subgroup speaking its own dialect. The Australian Bureau of Statistics recorded eight speakers in 2016 and 24 in 2021. It has many features that have made it well known among linguists.
