Gangulu is a Pama-Nyungan language of the Maric branch, traditionally spoken across roughly 16,000 square kilometers of the Dawson River region of Queensland, Australia, including the Woorabinda, Duaringa and Mount Morgan areas. Its use was suppressed during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries under measures including the Aboriginals Protection and Restriction of the Sale of Opium Act, and the Gangulu community is now working to reawaken the language. Its own name derives from gangu, meaning no, a naming convention shared with the neighboring Gureng Gureng language.
