Bidjara language

Bidjara, also known as Bidyara or Pitjara, is a Pama-Nyungan language of the Maric group traditionally spoken between the towns of Tambo and Augathella, along the Warrego and Langlo Rivers in Queensland, Australia. It was down to about 20 elderly speakers by 1980 and is often described as extinct by 1987, though the 2016 census recorded 22 speakers and revival programs have taught it in local schools since around 2013; its own Gunggari dialect had only three known native speakers as of 2021.
