Ngaatjatjarra is a Western Desert language of the Wati branch of the Pama-Nyungan family, traditionally spoken by the Ngaatjatjarra people of the northeastern Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, centered on the Warburton Ranges. It is mutually intelligible with the neighboring Ngaanyatjarra language, and the two are often treated as dialects of a single language; the name Ngaatjatjarra itself derives from the demonstrative ngaatja, meaning this or here, echoing the parallel naming of Ngaanyatjarra from ngaanya.
