Touo, also called Baniata or Lokuru, is a language spoken by around 1,900 people in the southern part of Rendova Island in Solomon Islands' Western Province. Glottolog treats it as a language isolate, though some linguists have tentatively linked it to the Central Solomons family that includes Lavukaleve. It has a complex grammatical system marking four genders and four number categories, including separate dual, enumerated and non-enumerated forms, and its basic word order is subject-object-verb, unlike the neighboring Austronesian languages of the region; unlike many small Pacific languages, it is not classified as endangered.
