The South Bougainville languages, also called the East Bougainville languages, are a small family of Papuan languages spoken on the island of Bougainville in Papua New Guinea, divided into the Buinic and Nasioiic branches. As with the neighboring North Bougainville family, these languages were once grouped by Stephen Wurm into a wider East Papuan family, a classification no longer considered valid and abandoned by Ethnologue in 2009.
