Chocoan Family

This group collects members of the Chocoan (Choco) family, spoken along the Pacific lowlands of Colombia and Panama, including the Embera dialect continuum and Wounaan. Chocoan is sometimes proposed as distantly related to Barbacoan and to Chibchan under older macro-family hypotheses that current scholarship treats as unproven, so it is kept as its own group here rather than merged with either. Placement follows each member's own description naming it Chocoan or Choco.
