The Northwest Sumatra-Barrier Islands languages are a group of Malayo-Polynesian languages spoken by the Batak and related peoples of interior North Sumatra, and by the Nias, Mentawai and other peoples of the Barrier Islands off Sumatra's western coast, Indonesia.
