The Western Desert Language is a dialect cluster of the Pama-Nyungan family spoken across the desert regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. With several thousand speakers it is one of the strongest surviving traditional Australian Aboriginal languages, though its dialects use several different orthographies rather than one standardized writing system.
