The Gonga, or Kefoid, languages belong to the Afro-Asiatic family and are spoken in Ethiopia. Their present-day speakers are the Kafacho, Shekkacho, Boro Shinasha and Anfillo peoples; a fifth group, Bosha, is extinct. These peoples are thought to have lived together some 400 years ago before disintegrating and migrating to their current locations for social, environmental, economic and political reasons.
