The Temein languages, also called the Nuba Hills languages, are a group of Eastern Sudanic languages spoken in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan, comprising Temein, also called Ronge, with about 10,000 speakers, Doni, also called Keiga Jirru, with about 1,000 speakers, and Tese, also called Dese, with about 1,000 speakers. The three languages are not closely related to one another; Temein is the most conservative of the group, while Doni and Tese show significant influence from the neighboring Kadu languages.
