The Volta-Niger languages, also known as West Benue-Congo, Kwa, or East Kwa, are a branch of the Niger-Congo language family with an estimated 70 million speakers. The branch includes the most widely spoken languages of southern Nigeria, Benin, Togo, and southeast Ghana, among them Yoruba, Igbo, Bini, and the Gbe languages.
