The Suppire-Mamara languages form the northern branch of the Senufo language family, spoken mainly in Mali by approximately 750,000 people across five languages. The Northern Senufo languages are separated from the Central Senufo languages by a small band of Mande-speaking people, and are bordered to the east and west mainly by Mande languages such as Bambara and Dioula, which have influenced them considerably in both vocabulary and grammar.
