The Western Lakes Bantu languages are a subgroup of the Great Lakes Bantu languages, spoken across Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and Tanzania, concentrated around the Kivu region. The group divides into three branches, Kabwari, Kivu and Rwenzori, and includes major languages such as Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Nande and Konzo.
