The Kimbundu languages are a group of Bantu languages, coded zone H.20 in Guthrie's classification, spoken primarily in Angola. The group comprises Kimbundu itself, also called Mbundu, along with Sama, Bolo and Mpinda; the variety Ngoya was formerly treated as a Kimbundu dialect but is now recognized as a distinct language transitional toward Umbundu, while Songo, once classified within the group, is now placed among the Teke languages.
