Highland East Cushitic, also called Burji-Sidamo, is a branch of the Afroasiatic language family spoken in south-central Ethiopia. It is often grouped with the Lowland East Cushitic, Dullay and Yaaku languages under the broader label East Cushitic. Its most widely spoken member is Sidama, with close to two million speakers.
