This group collects members of the Mirndi family (its Eastern and Western, or Ngurlun and Yirram, branches) and other non-Pama-Nyungan languages of the Top End and adjoining Gulf Country of the Northern Territory and Queensland, including Wardaman and the related Yangmanic languages, Wagiman, Tiwi, the Iwaidjan family, Darwin Region (Limilngan-Wulna), Kungarakany, Laragiya, and the small Garawan (Garrwan) family spanning the Northern Territory-Queensland border. Placement follows each member's own description naming the Top End, the Victoria River district, the Barkly Tableland, or one of these named languages and families.
