The Great Lakes Bantu languages, also called Lacustrine Bantu or Bantu zone J, are a group of Bantu languages spoken across East Africa. They were recognized as a distinct group by the Tervuren research team, who added them as an extra zone, zone J, to Malcolm Guthrie's largely geographic classification of the Bantu languages.
