Basaa languages

African Language Families

The Basaa languages are a group of Bantu languages of Cameroon, classified as Guthrie zone A.40, comprising two pairs, Basaa-Kogo and Rombi-Bankon, with the related language Hijuk sometimes added. The group belongs to the Niger-Congo family, within the Atlantic-Congo, Benue-Congo and Southern Bantoid branches that lead into Bantu.
