This group collects members of the Arawan (Arauan) family, a small language family of the southwestern Amazon in Brazil and Peru, deliberately kept distinct from the much larger Arawakan (Maipurean) family above despite the similar English name; the two are not the same family and this file classifies Arawan-family members before checking for the broader Arawakan substring so the two are never merged. Members include Deni, Kulina, Madi, Paumarí and Zuruahá. Placement follows each member's own description naming it Arawan or Arauan.
